A historical database reconstructing the circulation of commodities within the VOC during the eighteenth century. Based on surviving ledgers from the Bookkeeper-General in Batavia, covering 18,000+ voyages. The commodities in this dataset were used as the basis for the GLOBALISE Thesaurus – Commodities, which gives definitions and classifications to most of them.
